This
is going to be a quick rant so skip this if you don't like people dumping
negativity all over your face. Thanks.
Still
there? Great.
Ok,
so I get a few emails now and then from people who say they really like my
blog. Which I absolutely love and treasure. (I keep them in a separate folder
so I can read them every now and then, especially if I've had a particularly
bad day). But I also get messages which are a little annoying.
The
general point of those annoying messages seem to hew closely to the idea that I
am pushing a gay agenda, and that because I take a certain position on some
aspects of gay culture, I am judging others for theirs.
Which
is generally untrue. Look at my tagline. These are stories. Specifically, MY
stories. Unless you want me to lie, I really can't help having an opinion on
things. That's life. You can't sit on the fence all the time.
So
this is my point. My stories are my own, which I like sharing with the world.
It is not a personal attack on you or how you live your life. I am not making parinig (sorry other readers, this is a
very difficult word to translate). If my life makes you uncomfortable with your
own, that's your problem, not mine. I'm just telling a story.
Okay,
now I feel better.
End
rant.
ano ba yan?! kahit sa rant ang ganda mo pa rin magsulat. bwahaha
ReplyDeletecheer up! ganyan ang buhay sikat! ahihi :)
I have NO problem whatsoever.
ReplyDeletePart of having a blog is too voice YOUR opinions and what YOU think.
So, don't listen to those people. :)
Anyone who sees an agenda in your posts is probably someone who has an agenda of their own. Which I guess is fine, to each his or her own right?
ReplyDeleteYour posts are insightful and have genuine value to your readers. Even the angry, frustrated or depressing ones because they are all pieces of YOU. Those who recognize this and appreciate it will keep coming back.. so for us please keep it up!

Ppl will always have something to pick on....you can't stop and give them ur attention...it's ur opinion..u are fully entitled to say it out loud...ur just saying what's on ur mind....it's not like ur forcing it on them with a cane...ppl who hav got issues with you...let them hav their issues!!
ReplyDeleteKeep on writing...i enjoy reading your blog immensely!!
I agree with simple dude completely.
ReplyDeleteKudos to you!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou cannot please everyone.
Thank you for visiting me!
don't pay attention to haters. they have way too much free time on their hands. :)
ReplyDeleteDont let negative people and their aura get to you. You are what you are. This is your own personal cyberspace. They should just shut the hell up and leave you alone if they dont like what you write here.
ReplyDeleteUgh, I just don't get people - if they don't like it, just don't read it. But read it and then write annoying emails about it? - I just don't understand!
ReplyDeletePlease carry on writing what you want, when you want, and just ignore anyone that is negative about it.
personally i love your stories and your blog and it is after all yours so you should be allowed to voice whatever you want be it opinion or fact. so my suggestion would be to those who come by and don't like it you know the way out and don't let the cyber door hit you in the a$$ on the way out. just saying :)

I too agree with Simple Dude. This is 'your blog' and if someone doesn't like what you have to say, then they can always click on the 'next blog' button -- and shut the f*ck up!
ReplyDeleteOne of the things I have come to personally enjoy about the blogosphere is having the opportunity to read about/connect with others who have very different life experiences than my own. But then again I find that I learn more from opening my mind to other perspectives rather than being critical of someone because they appear different.
Great topic of discussion! xo The Empress

Fence sitting is for boring average people. Speaking from the gut and having a real point of view is much harder and revolutionary.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog :)
Hey guys! Thanks for the interesting comments which I noticed seem to be much more interesting than the post itself. Hahaha. I didn't think it would actually turn into a real discussion. Anyway, I still appreciate all of it.
ReplyDeleteHey, thanks for visiting my blog last Friday. Wish I could send out real peach smoothies over the internet to all who expressed such an interest in them!
ReplyDeleteLove the name "Fickle Cattle" and quite intrigued to know how you chose it. :)
Read a few of your blog posts - only a few mind you, but certainly saw no evidence of you trying to push an agenda on anyone - just expressing yourself. Which, if I'm not mistaken, is supposed to be the whole point of a blog.
Stay true to yourself, that's all that can be said.
ReplyDeleteJust be you. Even if you have an agenda, who cares? Your page... say what you want. If someone doesn't like it, they can move on.
ReplyDeletewell said and perfectly acceptable.
ReplyDeleteat the end of the day, this is your page and you can write anything you want here, all other be damned.
ReplyDeleteby the way, it's september already. good luck sa bar!
I enjoy reading your blog. My two cents worth: this is your blog, your story. You can freely write whatever you want. Cheers! :)
ReplyDeleteI remember a quote, I think from David Ogilvy - People who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the people who do.
ReplyDeleteWhether or not you're pushing an agenda is irrelevant - what you write is your choice, what I read is mine! I'm bemused by people who whine about what's on TV - why would you choose to watch what you think is crap? This is the same principle! Happy travels!!
ReplyDeleteI love rants :)
ReplyDeleteThis is YOUR blog. You can write about whatever the ef you want. Now, have you seen this? I friggin' love it.

I've never understood why someone has to leave negativity on someone else's blog. If they don't like something they can click away. So simple. I've come to realize that some people cannot read anything that they don't agree with, without judging or pointing fingers. Sad. I hope that you don't let this deture you from writing what is in your heart. Thanks for stopping by my place...glad I stopped over at yours. :)
ReplyDeleteHey guys. As always, enjoying all of the comments.
ReplyDeleteExcuse me, fanboy moment.
Ohmygod. Annah! I love your blog! And you're commenting on mine. It made me a little teary eyed.
I want you to quote what these people are say so we can make fun of their arguments. hahah
ReplyDeleteSeems like the world is in dire need of open-minded people, right?
ReplyDeleteNow allow me to say the most hackneyed expression in the world: You can't please everyone. They value their opinions, you value yours. You can rant about anything and everything and that's alright. Because that's you. And this is your blog. Cheers!
i am liking ur site :) am glad am here...
ReplyDeletethere. okay ka na? sulat ka na ulit para makabasa na kami ng bago. :) huwag na pansinin ang mga pasaway.
ReplyDeleteGood on you for speaking up.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe these people waste so much energy reading your blog if it bothers them so much..
Honesty is the new black! And I think your blog is fantastic - the two posts I have read since I found it a few minutes ago.. :)

@evey and charlotta: Thanks!
ReplyDelete@atticus: Hahaha. It didn't affect me naman ng sobra. Konti lang.
@flight: I wanted to. Kaya nga lang sayang sa energy, and ayokong maging hotbed ng negativity ang blog ko. Also, I deleted the messages na. Naiinis lang ako.
Hey you know what? This is YOUR blog, so say what you want :)
ReplyDeleteps. thanks so much for visiting my blog!!
@britni: Thanks!
ReplyDelete@jules: Blogger thought you were spam at first. Weird. Fixed it I think. Thanks for the insight!
good point. bloggers are hardly civil! =)
ReplyDeleteI always say, if you don't like what you are reading then why are you reading it? Everyone has opinions and yes they are entitled to them, but it makes you wonder why, when you write something, people assume you are talking about them? Are they not comfortable with themselves? "You're so vain, you probably think this post is about you"
ReplyDeleteFollowing sincerely.
Hey you, thanks for stopping by my blog i read one of your stories and I liked it a lot may come back for more. Feel free to follow i do return the favor especially if you tell fun stories like I see so far :))
ReplyDeleteWild Rose~
The thing is, this is YOUR blog. Who give a flip if you are or are not pushing something. I just started reading (love it- and thanks for popping on my blog too!) so I am a new kid on here. But at the end of the day,it's your blog. If they want something else to be said, they should start their own blog.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, I totally find myself editing what I say bc I am so sensitive to the mean comments. I never talk politics anymore. The comments stressed me out.
I have to agree with everyone else, because I have the same mantra: My blog, my rules - and you should write what you feel. You have a beautiful "voice" - and I am sure you may receive dissenting opinions - I think everyone does in their life, and that's fine, I just dislike when people get nasty and rude. There is never a reason for commentators to be vile just because they disagree. They should disagree, move on and not come back if they don't like the way you feel. Right?
ReplyDelete@bemistified, preppy and skippymom: Thank you for the comments. And I agree with all of you. I just needed to rant. Hahaha.
ReplyDeleteOo nga...imposing ka sa mga ideas mo minsan!
ReplyDeleteJOKE. hehe. pabayaan mo sila. YOU'RE A REALLY GOOD WRITER. Nakaka-inspire ka magsulat...
