Plagiarism, Anonymity and Cowardice

Someone plagiarized half my blog posts and when I asked her to take it down, she left anonymous  comments on my blog calling me "immoral" (paraphrasing here, she said worse things I'd rather not repeat) and my writing work "crap". Yay, a true-blue hater. I feel like such a real blogger.
:-D

P.S.
I deleted your comments. If you can't even leave your real or internet name in a comment, please, you have no right calling anyone a coward.
If you hate my work so much, stop stealing them please. It's hypocritical and idiotic.

  1. Plagiarists are cowardly talentless non-entities and they don't deserve anyone's consideration. Whoever is doing this to you is a disgusting excuse for a human.

I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through this, fickle cattle. How awful to have to deal with the dregs of society. I feel for you.

  2. I can't believe someone would stoop so low. It's a shame that, in putting your views and writings out into the world, you are at risk at having them stolen and manipulated in this way. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but this is just spiteful. I hope you know that there are lots of us who read your blog and support you 100%!

  3. It sucks someone took your work like that :( It's why when I started posting a story I got me a free copyright made. That will actually hopefully protect my work.

  4. That's awful. We have every right to be critical but we should ALWAYS be respectful.

  5. I'm reading more and more blogs lately where there have been problems of hateful comments. I'm sorry you have had to suffer this unpleasant and nasty behaviour. And to think it's a result of someone plagiarising your work. How hypocritical is that?

  6. That's horrible. Sorry you're having to deal with this.

  7. You know this happened to me once, a girl dropped by my blog and commented on one of my poems and was really complimentary about it. A couple of weeks later I stopped by her blog and saw that she had taken lines directly from my work and incorporated them into a piece of her own (substandard in my opinion) 'poetry'.

She was made aware of the theft and still did not remove my work or acknowledge the original source. The most annoying thing of all was her blog was called 'this is my collection' (I can only assume she meant her 'collection' of other's people's work).

It was because of this that I closed my blog and made it invited reader only - sad for me, but necessary to protect my work. As of today, the thief in question has removed all blog posts from her blog and it stands open but empty....I'm guessing many of her other posts were stolen from others.

Fickle Cattle, well done for highlighting this problem again. The thieves out there...shame on you.

    Bux x

  10. I had a similar problem. They took events I wrote about and twisted them in a way I found offensive.

It is said 'imitation is the sincerest form of flattery' but in reality it is just the sincerest form of jealousy.

  11. Wow that sucks hardcore rotten eggs. At least you've made this post and can chuckle at the attempts to smear your name.

There are no excuses for plagiarism. Being offensive, while not as bad, does nothing to heal wounds of a literary nature.

  12. Blogging can be a great way to be creative and meet knew people but I too have seen the nastier side of it. Sorry this has happened to you but your dealing with it well.

  13. I could very well relate to this. Few of my news articles were plagiarized by a certain local tabloid newspaper and I was smoking from anger. It's horrible.

  14. Fcuk all plagiarists. And I dare say, this proves how much of a really really good writer you ar. :)

  15. Why only half your posts were the other half crap? :P

Seriously though, you should name and shame the asshole. Can't you copyright your material and have the offending blog removed on those grounds? I don't know how it works.

  16. that sucks. Damn. plagiarism is very bad in any form. we must stop it.

  17. Holy god- how do you find out your writing is being plagiarised? I hear of people finding this stuff out and I wonder how you go about finding that kind of thing out?

And second- that's just sad if people are going to do that because it's not THAT hard to think of stuff to write. Good lord.

  18. hi..that's jealousy I guess. Even me, I am afraid that my blogposts will just be copied. So I guess, we don't have real property rights to our blog posts. I wish there is a certain gadget we could use so that every words we post in our blogs will not be easily copied without us knowing it. How I wish!

  19. It means you're really good :-) Ignore this person, after some time she'll just disappear.

  20. Oh brother ! she steals your work then says it is not good ?
    Whadda loser !
Jeez, I ask permission all the time, even when I don't have to .. quoting someone is flattering and reasonable, stealing their words is just the action of a lame brain with no original thoughts of their own.
Let us know who it is then we can all steal your words back !

    ReplyDelete
  21. I don't understand how someone could live with doing that, the stolen words. Writing is so personal that it is criminal to try it on as your own, as though wearing someone else's coat for a day. Should we live constantly pouring over our works, in fear? Or instead hope that they should be treated correctly. Though the latter is the desire, the fore is the outcome (sadly).

It has been so long since I have read what you post, I intend to catch up.

Take care and have a lovely week x

  25. I just recently read of someone else having a problem with plaigairism , in her case, a clueless blogger accused her publicly , then he found out that it was someone else entirely.
And he made matters worse by not apologising as publicly as he accused ..
Creeps in BlogLand .. we could all write about that !

Like pre-law courses that would definitely suit the profession, activities in high school I could join in to become ready (..or skills i should improve on?) and internships I could apply to :-) I know I'm too young to think about this and such but I just love finding new things.
